Shuya Wang

Shuya Wang

Among the handbags and luggage, the sunglasses and luxury fashion-wear, there stands alone a brand-Louis Vuitton-that Shuya Wang (LLM ’08) is tasked to defend. As the in-house intellectual property legal counsel for Louis Vuitton Company Limited, Wang is responsible for protecting the integrity of the brand throughout all of China. Her path to this role began with a series of connections, connections that were sewn and stitched together by the very fabric of the Wake Forest community.

Frédéric Joly

Frédéric Joly

Frédéric Joly’s (LLM ’00) journey to senior legal counsel for Saint-Gobain Group in Paris, France started as a passion for other legal cultures and transformed into a year-long journey. For Joly, pairing culture with academic rigor led him to Wake Forest, and this path allowed him to make strong connections with professors while taking classes with JD students. Joly credits his Wake Forest diploma, American experience, and legal English skills for his strong career profile.

Mauricio Zuluaga and Catalina Garzon

Mauricio Zuluaga and Catalina Garzon

The dream to take his legal studies beyond the borders of Colombia had been something Mauricio Zuluaga (LLM ’13) had carried with him since graduating from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in 2002. This dream, which would be realized 10 years later with his wife, Catalina Garzon (LLM ’13), by his side, would take both of them to the American South to a metropolitan city tucked in the outskirts of southern Appalachia.
