Externships and Clinical Programs
LLM candidates are eligible to enroll in the classes of the Wake Forest Litigation Clinic. This clinical program offers exposure to both civil and criminal law, and it contains a classroom component.
Clinic students in the civil area may be placed with supervising attorneys in private practice, legal aid, corporate general counsel, the Forsyth County Attorney’s Office, or the National Labor Relations Board.
In the criminal law area, clinical students are placed with the district attorney’s office, the federal public defender’s office, or a criminal defense lawyer in private practice.
LLM students are also eligible to enroll in the Judicial Externship summer school course. In this program, students are placed with state and federal judges to observe trials, conferences, and hearings and research legal and procedural matters for the judge.
